Look! It’s The Jet! UPDATE!!!
Ask and ye shall receive. Just yesterday we were lamenting the lack of a photo of the iconic neon sign over the Jet Drive-In in Havelock.
Today our newest historical hero (or heroine depending on the level of your PC-ness), Judy Dargan, has delivered the goods. Judy’s discovery, in a 1960s-era Havelock High School yearbook, brings up an interesting spelling question, though, as the photo shows the burger joint’s name spelled two different ways. Let’s bypass that and just call it The Jet.
And if any of you other history sleuths can up with a picture of the entire drive-in (or drive-inn for that matter) we’d love to hear from you. In the meantime, today’s Gold History Star Award goes to Judy Miller Dargan. Good job!
